Several residents of Harper Street, Macgregor, had been without sewerage service for up to three weeks, The Canberra Times reported on this day 45 years ago. It was believed that a power pole had been wrongly placed, severing the sewer. It was found the damage had been caused by a pipe being cut when a power pole had been wrongly placed.
