On this day in 1977, news of the first sheep show held in NSW to show sheep of various colours and sizes made headlines. The sheep came from a wide area of southern NSW stretching from Adelong to Crookwell as well as parts of Victoria. It was reported that more than 1000 spectators had come from an even wider area to inspect the large number of fleeces for sale.
