Hallmark Channel original movie premieres, A Winter Princess and Winter Love Story, on Friday and Saturday, part of the net’s annual “Winterfest” programming event, propelled the network to be the highest-rated and most-watched non-news cable network for the week during Prime Time among Households and Total Viewers. Princess averaged a 2.0 HH rating, 2.0 million Total Viewers and 295,000 W25-54, while Love Story averaged a 2.7 HH rating, 2.7 million Total Viewers and 415,000 W25-54.
The season premiere of Telemundo’s Exatlon delivered an average 319,000 viewers A18-34, according to Nielsen. In addition, the show outperformed the premiere of the first season by 42% among A18-49.
The season finale of ABC’s The Conners rose 15% week to week to hit a 1.5/7 among A18-49, its most-watched telecast since October, with 9.4 million total viewers.
On its fourth episode of the season, Freeform’s grown-ish jumped 38% week to week among A18-34 (to 308,000) for a new season high and posted a new season best among W18-34, up 27% (to 232,000).
Saturday night, Univision’s back-to-back Liga MX soccer matches – America vs. Pachuca and Tigres UANL vs. Cruz Azul – attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+18% to 1.0 million), A18-49 (+16% to 512,000) and A18-34 (+19% to 210,000) than the prior Saturday’s Liga MX matchups.
It was a Golden (Globes) week in syndication the week ending January 13 for Access (new season high 1.4 in Live+SD, up 17% from the prior week), TMZ (1.3, up 8%), Entertainment Tonight (3.2, up 14%) and Inside Edition (up 15% to 3.1).
Completing its two-week trial run was Breakthrough with Dr. Steve Perry (0.4/1 weighted metered market two-week average), down 50% from both lead-ins and year-ago time periods.

IN MEMORIAM
Comedian and writer Kevin Barnett, co-creator of Rel, died suddenly while on vacation in Mexico. He was 32. “Our hearts are broken, as are those of everyone at Rel, at the news of Kevin Barnett’s passing. He was an incredibly funny, wildly talented man who had so much more to do and so many more stories to tell. We send our thoughts and prayers to his friends and family during this difficult time,” said Fox Entertainment in a statement.
