RATINGS Hallmark Channel’s airing of A Summer Romance on Saturday, the fourth of its 2019 “Summer Nights” original movie premieres, ranked as the highest-rated and most-watched non-sports program of the day. It averaged a 2.4 Household rating, 2.4 million Total Viewers, and 287,000 Women 15-54, while elevating the network to the highest-rated and most-watched on cable during Weekend Prime. While few programs were able to increase due to low viewing levels and preemptions for pre-season football during the summer syndication session ending August 11, Access (1.1 Live+SD national Nielsen rating, up 10% from the week before) was the lone magazine in the plus column. The double-digit move gave Access the biggest year-to-year increase in magazine and vaulted the show into a tie with TMZ (1.1, unchanged). Judge Judy (5.8, steady) remained syndication’s highest rated show, topping the chart for the fourth time in five weeks even though it was in complete reruns and was unable to be seen for most of the week on the 28 CBS-owned stations carried by DirecTV and AT&T U-verse in 14 markets including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.
