Richard D. Parsons, named interim chairman of CBS after the departure of Les Moonves, is stepping down for health reasons. In a statement, Parsons, who has a rare form of blood cancer that had gone into remission after a stem cell transplant, said, "Unfortunately, unanticipated complications have created new challenges, and my doctors have advised that cutting back on my current commitments is essential to my overall recovery."
Parsons has been replaced by Strauss Zelnick, head of video game publisher Take-Two Interactive and a former president of 20th Century Fox, who was appointed to the CBS board last month.
