This Is Us star Milo Ventimiglia and his producing partner Russ Cundiff sold three projects to FOX via their DiVide Pictures. Drama Cordelia is a Latino take on King Lear from Robert Munic, co-creator of Ice; The End is comedy from Michael Jacobs, co-creator of Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World; and Committed is a reality project about couples from David Leepson (Rich Kids Of Beverly Hills).
 
The CW is developing comedic drama It’s The End Of The World As We Know It, based on the 2012 book of the same title by Iva-Marie Palmer. Project hails from Powerless EPs and showrunners Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas and Warner Bros. TV.
 
Cannabis news, entertainment and lifestyle channel, 420TV, set to launch in 2018, began production on Medical Marijuana Miracles. Series tells the stories of people who have benefitted from the medicinal properties of cannabis.
 
Noticias Telemundo launched Noticias Telemundo Investiga, its first-ever investigative unit for production of multiplatform, in-depth original reporting. “Investigative journalism has never been more critical for our viewers,” said Luis Fernandez, EVP of Noticias. RATINGS
 
Growing over its Dancing With the Stars lead-in for the fourth week in a row, ABC’s The Good Doctor was the top series in its hour for the fourth consecutive week this season in Total Viewers (10.6 million) and A18-49 (2.0/8).
 
Hallmark Channel’s third annual “Fall Harvest” programming event went out on a high note last weekend with the final two original movie premieres of A Harvest Wedding and Good Witch: Spellbound, averaging a 2.5 HH rating and 2.7 million Total Viewers.
 
FOX dramas The Gifted and The Orville doubled their Live+SD rating in the seven-day window, ranking among the Top 3 new dramas for the week of October 9. The Gifted posted a 2.4/8 L7, marking a +100% lift from Live+SD and building +660% on its Lucifer lead-in, and ranked as the #2 drama of the night. The Orville delivered a 2.1/8 L7 for the fourth consecutive week and a gain of +110% from L+SD and ranked as Thursday’s #1 entertainment program with Men 18-49.
 
VH1’s Scared Famous garnered 1.8 million viewers on Monday. It was the #1 non-sports program in P18-49 for its 9p premiere and logged a 1.00 P18-49 Live+SD.
 
Dr. Phil (3.5 Live+SD national Nielsen rating, up 13% from the week before) raced to its highest ratings since early March in the session ending October 15, dominating talkers for the 58th week in a row. Others in the category enjoying big weeks were Steve Harvey’s Steve (1.4, up 8%), which hit its highest rating in four months, and Harry Connick Jr.’s Harry (0.9, up 13%).
 
Crime Watch Daily (1.0, up 11%) had the largest annual increase of any daytime show, leaping 11% from last year. Among the season’s newcomers to first-run syndication, leader Daily Mail TV (1.0, steady) decisively finished first, setting the pace for the fourth consecutive week. Page Six TV (0.7, steady) was the strongest rival, garnering more than 1.0 million daily viewers with a 0.5 among W 25-54, which tied Daily Mail TV in the key demo.
 
Access Hollywood (1.4, up 8%) had the hot hand among magazines, earning its highest rating in 25 weeks. Entertainment Tonight (3.0, steady) led the category.

Randy Freer was named CEO of Hulu. He replaces Mike Hopkins, who left to become Chairman of Sony Pictures Television. Freer had been President and COO of Fox Networks Groups since 2013.

IN MEMORIAM
 
Robert Guillaume, best known for his roles on Soap and Benson, died at home on Tuesday, October 24, after battling prostate cancer. He was 89.
 
Patricia Llewellyn , former chief of production group Optomen and the woman who launched the career of Gordon Ramsey and transformed Jamie Oliver into The Naked Chef, died over the weekend. Llewellyn had been battling a long illness. She was 55.
