CEO David Zaslav at the 46th UBS Global Media and Communications Conference on Monday. ”I couldn’t take my eyes off the two of them.” The Fixer Upper stars announced their exit shortly before the close of Discovery’s acquisition of HGTV owner Scripps Networks Interactive but are partnering with Discovery for their own TV network. ”We can’t forget that in the content business we’re really about stories and people,” said Zaslav, who had a hand in negotiating the deal with the star couple.
