The WNBA scored a big media deal that will see CBS Sports televise live WNBA games beginning with the upcoming 2019 season in a multi-year agreement. CBS Sports Network will now feature national coverage of 40 live WNBA games in primetime and on weekends, beginning May 25 at 8p with the Sky/Lynx. Defending WNBA Champion Seattle Storm make six appearances on CBS Sports Network this season.
 
"Through our partnership with CBS Sports Network, the WNBA is joining an elite lineup of premium sports programming," said NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. "We thank CBS Sports for making such a meaningful commitment to women's basketball and for providing another platform to showcase the world-class athletes of the WNBA."

PROGRAMMING

ESPN Deportes unveiled a new marketing campaign for its coverage of the Lima 2019 XVIII Pan American Games, with promotion featuring Peruvian Latin Grammy recording artist Gian Marco performing “El Triunfo es mi destino.” The spot is now running across ESPN Deportes’ platforms. ESPN’s Sports Marketing, ESPN On-Air Promotions and Bonsai collaborated on the creative. Various editions of the creative will be distributed across ESPN Deportes’ linear, digital and social channels in the US and Latin America. 
 
A Major League Baseball panel issued a new sealed decision in the long dispute between the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles over television rights fees, according to the AP. Stephen R. Neuwirth, a lawyer for the Nationals, filed a motion in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan on April 15 asking the court to confirm the arbitration decision issued by baseball's Revenue Sharing Definitions Committee.
 
The 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships selections announcement takes place tomorrow at 5:30p, running on Golf Channel’s Golf Central and streamed live on the Golf Channel website. Seventy-two teams and 24 individuals will be selected to compete at one of four regional championships, each featuring 18 teams and six individuals, May 6-8. From regional competition, 24 teams and 12 individuals will advance to the national championships to be played May 17-22 at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This year’s women’s golf championships will be broadcast for the fifth consecutive year by Golf Channel with more than 100 news and tournament hours planned again for the men’s and women’s golf championships.
 
Ahead of tomorrow’s Manchester Derby, NBC Sports announced plans to offer pre-match coverage live from the pitch at Old Trafford as Arlo White, Lee Dixon and Graeme Le Saux set to call the match, begin coverage at a special pitch-side desk for NBCSN’s Premier League Live at 2p. Leading up to the match, NBC Sports will utilize on-air teams in the U.S. and the U.K. Rebecca Lowe will be joined by former Jamaica National Team player Robbie Earle, and former Premier League player Robbie Mustoe.

Tonight’s MLB Network Showcase telecast will feature the Cubs/Dodgers at 8p with Bob Costas and John Smoltz on the call. Featured within the game and telecast will be Costas and Smoltz leading the Wrigley Field fans in the “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” sing-along during the 7th inning stretch, marking the first time the pair will lead the song on Wrigley.

IHG Hotels & Resorts and the USTA served up a new partnership that designates IHG as the official hotel and hotel loyalty partner for the US Open Tennis Championships. The multi-year agreement, which begins with the 2019 US Open, also includes sponsorship of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati. The 2019 US Open will run from Aug. 26-Sept. 8.
 
The NFL Draft will see Hyundai present Rolling with the Rookies, a five-episode content series that profiles athletes by “bringing them back home to visit the people, places and moments that defined their journeys.” Hyundai partnered with five college football players who are projected to be taken in the first two rounds of the professional football draft – Alabama defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, Clemson defensive end Clelin Ferrell, Iowa State running back David Montgomery, Kentucky linebacker Josh Allen and Washington free safety Taylor Rapp.

The National Lacrosse League announced a partnership with Fanseat to offer the live streaming of all NLL games, including playoffs, to viewers outside of North America for the remainder of the 2018-2019 season. All games will be accessible live and on demand on the sports entertainment service Fanseat. “We are excited to provide the opportunity for our fans living outside of North America to follow their teams and watch NLL games live,” said NLL Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz. “Lacrosse has grown internationally over the past decade at a rapid rate and there is global interest in our sport and League now more than ever before. It’s in the league’s and our fans best interest to provide live games so dedicated fans can follow their favorite teams and new fans can see the best lacrosse players in the world.”

Reports have The International locked and loaded for its 2019 event. According to Vici Gaming, this year’s event – out of Shanghai – will see group stages run Aug. 16-18 with the Main Event spanning Aug. 20-25 for the concluding tournament of the Dota Pro Circuit.
 
KFC signed on to bring its CS:GO competition, titled KFC BATTLE, to Central and Eastern European players with the winning team will earn a trip to the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019. "In order to compete in the final stage of the tournament, CEE teams will go through a qualifying stage consisting of open and closed online qualifiers on FACEIT to determine two leading teams,” the company said in the announcement. “These teams will then compete in the concluding Grand Finale in Moscow. Open qualifiers for KFC BATTLE will take place every weekend day from May 11 to June 2. Closed qualifiers both for Central and Eastern European teams and for teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belorussia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and Georgia will take place on June 7-9."'
