Amazon Prime Video is upgrading its Thursday Night Football presentation, allowing NFL fans around the globe to customize their streaming experience. The TNF schedule on Prime Video kicks off tomorrow, with Prime serving up NFL Next – a new 30-minute live show that will provide viewers with insight and commentary from Chris Long, Kay Adams and James Koh. For the game, for the first time, X-Ray will give viewers direct access to the same real-time Next Gen stats and live play-by-play data analysis previously only available to coaches and announcers. Golden Boy expanded its partnership with Facebook to bring boxing fans new content streamed live from Mexico on Facebook Watch. The four-series event began on Sept. 21 with Joseph ‘JoJo’ Diaz Jr. defeating Jesus Cuadro for the WBA Gold Super Featherweight Title at the Auditorio del Estado in Mexicali, Mexico. The series will continue with monthly broadcasts featuring championship level contenders fighting in different areas around the country, including Chihuahua, Mexico. Golden Boy’s production entity, Media and Entertainment, will continue producing the live fights and original programming. NBC Sports announced talent for the upcoming NHL season with nearly 30 game and studio commentators this time around, highlighted by the return of Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, as lead NHL play-by-play commentator, in addition to names that include Eddie Olczyk, Kenny Albert, John Forslund, Pierre McGuire and Brian Boucher. Patrick Sharp joins NBC Sports as a full-time studio analyst for the 2019-20 season, following his contributions as an analyst during the 2018-19 regular season and postseason while Liam McHugh, Kathryn Tappen and Paul Burmeister return as the hosts for NBC Sports’ studio coverage alongside, Mike Milbury, Keith Jones, Sharp, Jeremy Roenick and Anson Carter. Sunday’s PBC Fight Camp and Inside PBC Boxing both drew all-time high viewership records for FOX Sports on Sunday. Nielsen reports that PBC Fight Camp Spence Jr. vs. Porter drew more than 1.7 million viewers for a rise of 76% over the previous episode of the series. Inside PBC Boxing, meanwhile, delivered 791,000 viewers, up 84%. ESPN reports that the live telecast of Sunday’s Formula 1 World Championship Singapore Grand Prix on ESPN2 drew the largest U.S. television audience on record for the event. The race had an average audience of 574,000 viewers on ESPN2, for a rise of 20% over the race on ESPN2 last year. Through 15 races this season, Formula 1 is averaging 659,000 viewers on ESPN networks, an increase of 19% over the average at this point last year. The 2019 WNBA Finals are locked and loaded with the Washington Mystics and Connecticut Sun squaring off starting Sunday on ESPN at 3p. Subsequent games, which necessary, will take place on Oct. 1, 6 (on ABC), 8 and 10. ESPN also announced its selection for an additional MLB Postseason Impact Game, picking up the Cubs/Cardinals on Sept. 27. Dan Shulman will call the latest addition to the longstanding rivalry alongside analysts Eduardo Perez and Rick Sutcliffe at 8p on ESPN2. MLB Network will televise a special broadcast of Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman’s final Cincinnati Reds game call today on WLW live at 12:30p.
