Hey y'all,
🌎 WorldPride's D.C. organizers issued a warning Saturday cautioning trans and nonbinary folks visiting the U.S. for WorldPride that they should be aware of the risks in coming to the country under the anti-trans Trump administration. It comes as several countries around the world have announced travel advisories to their trans citizens for traveling to the states.
🚁 Jo Ellis, the transgender Army Black Hawk pilot falsely said to be flying the helicopter that collided with a passenger plane over the Potomac River near Washington, D.C., in January, is suing one of the right-wing commentators who made the allegation. She told The Advocate she's doing it to "hold someone accountable."
🐊 Naples Pride has sued the city of Naples after the Florida municipality ramped up security costs for this year’s event. City officials said anti-trans opposition to the event at meetings prompted the city’s actions and that there would likely be excessive protests at the event in the midst of rising anti-transgender sentiment in Florida.
Onwards and upwards,
Alex Cooper

Each week, The Advocate newsletter has a little bit of LGBTQ+ trivia.
This week's question: What was the first Broadway musical to center a lesbian protagonist?
This week's answer: The musical is Fun Home, the smash-hit Broadway musical based on out author Alison Bechdel's autobiographical graphic novel of the same name. It debuted on Broadway in April 2015.
🎉 Congrats to Dana, Louie, and Kerry for getting it right!
