It's Not All Sunshine and Rainbows for Goldin Auctions

On Sunday Night, the Goldin Auctions site crashed due to overwhelming traffic. This gave the site no choice but to extend auction times, which as you could imagine led to some pretty angry bidders. CEO of Goldin Auctions, Ross Hoffman, addressed the situation on Twitter apologizing in a series of tweets promising to make sure changes are made for the future.

The card frenzy began with this 2020 National Treasures Justin Herbert RPA Platinum NFL Shield 1/1 pulled at the National Sports Collectors Convention a few weeks ago during a live break. The seller turned around and it sold privately last Monday for $550,000...Not too shabby!

MONSTER CARD SALES #2: 1980 Rookie Gem

Next up, we have this Larry Bird-Magic Johnson Topps rookie card from 1980. It’s currently one of 25 Bird-Johnson rookie cards graded 10 by PSA. It sold for $861,000 at Goldin Auctions on Saturday night. The amount was a record breaking number for one of the most sought out rookie cards in the hobby.

MONSTER CARD SALES #3: Trae Young Heating Up

The bidders on Goldin Auctions wanted more! This Trae Young 1/1 Panini Prizm Choice Nebula PSA 10 went for $400,980. This total sale made it the highest ever Trae Young card sold. Take that Trae haters!

From Sorrow to Smiles: Messi joins PSG

After a surprising departure from Barcelona, Messi landed on his feet signing with a new two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain. PSG announced the player's signing on Tuesday, with sources reporting that Messi is expected to earn between 30-35 Million Euro ($25-41m) net a year.  The Messi signing completes one of the most successful transfer windows in recent years. PSG now has his sights on winning the Champions League again with Messi now joining Neymar Jr., Kylian, Mbappe, and Wijnaldum.
