| Dag tegen Racisme: aandacht voor de arbeidsmarkt | | Vandaag is het Internationale Dag tegen Racisme. De dag om een stand van zaken op te maken. In 2023 opende Unia 670 dossiers voor racisme. Vooral op het werk blijven mensen gediscrimineerd worden op basis van hun zogenaamd raciale kenmerken. Volgens Unia kan dit aangepakt worden via een versterkte arbeidsinspectie en een verplicht preventiebeleid voor discriminatie op het werk. Ontdek meer cijfers en aanbevelingen |

| | Zaak Schild & Vrienden: racisme veroordeeld | Op 12 maart werden Dries Van Langenhove en zijn medebeklaagden veroordeeld in de zaak Schild & Vrienden. Van Langenhove kreeg een effectieve gevangenisstraf van 1 jaar. 6 anderen een gevangenisstraf met uitstel. Unia is tevreden dat de zware inbreuken op de racismewetgeving en negationismewet eindelijk erkend worden. Van Langenhove en anderen berusten echter niet in de uitspraak en gaan in beroep. | Rapport antisemitisme: aandacht voor een speciale vorm van racisme | In ons nieuwe antisemitismerapport analyseren we de meldingen en dossiers die we behandelden van 2018 tot 2022. Gezien de dramatische gebeurtenissen van oktober is er ook een bijlage over de nieuwe meldingen. Enkele bevindingen: In België uit antisemitisme zich vooral als haatspraak en niet als discriminatie zoals in andere dossiers. De meeste antisemitismedossiers gaan over incidenten in Vlaanderen. |

| | Rapport 'Being Black in the EU' | Het Bureau van de Europese Unie voor de grondrechten (FRA) publiceerde het rapport Being Black in the EU. Enkele cijfers: 45% van de ondervraagden gaf aan het slachtoffer te zijn geweest van racisme in de 5 jaar voor het onderzoek. 58% van de ondervraagden kreeg te maken met politiecontroles als gevolg van raciale profilering. |
