One of the Arab world's largest bookselling fairs, the public-facing Abu Dhabi International Book Fair opens May 22.

The Egyptian screenwriter Ahmed Mourad will speak about fantasy in Arabic literature, as part of Abu Dhabi's Congress of Arabic Publishing and Creative Industries.

Admired for his music that use both Western and Oriental instrumentation, Egypt's Omar Khairat is honored by the Sheikh Zayed Book Award.
