Longtime Illinois restaurant nears reopening after devastating fire

Derek Vollmer, facing, owner of The Busy Corner restaurant at 302 Eureka Street in Goodfield, chats with a worker as reconstruction continues on the popular eatery. A November 13 fire left the business severely moke-damaged, forcing Vollmer to shut down until cleanup and repairs were finished.

A fire in November 2024 closed the longtime Goodfield restaurant, but the community immediately pitched in to help.
