Good afternoon,

Scotland has recorded its highest daily rise in coronavirus deaths since mid-June.

Seven people in Scotland have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the highest number recorded since June 17.

Mini-lockdown not suggested

A two-week mini-lockdown for Scotland, to get rising Covid cases back under control, has not been suggested to the Scottish Government, it has been revealed by John Swinney.

The Deputy First Minister told MSPs while there has been growing speculation about a “circuit breaker” event and the “concept” was being explored by government scientists in the SAGE group, “no decisions have been taken to take such a step, nor have we had evidence saying such a move would be required”.

UK Gov votes to BREAK international law

The UK Government last night voted to break international law despite claims it could threaten the Union.

Despite warnings from every single living Prime Minister and the US presidential candidate Joe Biden, Westminster today voted overwhelmingly to support the bill sparking fury across the devolved nations.
