View email online | | | | | Jul 22, 2021 | | | | | | Good evening, There were a few weeks at the start of this pandemic when people went a little bit crazy and bought enough loo rolls to last a lifetime. I suspect there are houses all over Lancashire still opening up packets of the things which they purchased in February 2020. And it wasn’t just toilet rolls....pasta, rice and flour all disappeared from the shelves as we prepared for this strange thing called lockdown. The flour shortage even led to a craze for banana bread, which can be made without flour. As I said, we all went a little crazy. But surely we learned from all of that and pledged never to do it again? Perhaps not. The ‘pingdemic’ which has seen shopworkers and lorry drivers being forced to self-isolate has led to a few empty shelves in supermarkets...and a rush by some people to fill their freezers and kitchen cupboards. Perhaps it is the unbearable heat which has caused us to start panic buying again as we all become dizzy and confused. If we all stay calm and buy only what we need there will be enough for everyone. Until next time, take care Gillian Contact me at gillian.parkinson@jpimedia.co.uk Thanks for reading.
