How the roles have reversed: The colonizer, some Portuguese contend, has been colonized. Between 2002 and 2015, Angolan companies and individuals poured $189 billion outside the country into often opaque investments. As Angola’s ruling elite sought to safeguard its wealth, Portugal's political and business elite more than obliged - the problem was how the money was obtained.
