QUOTE OF THE DAY Thomas S. Monson |
“By learning of Him, by believing in Him, by following Him, there is the capacity to become like Him. The countenance can change, the heart can be softened, the step can be quickened, the outlook enhanced. Life becomes what it should become. Change is at times imperceptible, but it does take place” (General Conference April 1996, “The Way of the Master”).

TODAY IN CHURCH HISTORY April 19 |
|
1775 - Battle of Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts places the American Colonies on the path that leads to the Revolutionary War for American Independence. During the previous night, Paul Revere made his famous ride to warn the colonists the Red Coats were coming. The first shots were fired on the Lexington Village Green just after dawn and became known as the “shot heard round the world.” An independent American nation provided a fertile ground for restoration of the gospel and the birth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1830.

Studies in the Book of Mormon: Chapter 46: Out of Weakness Made Strong
It is surely no coincidence that Moroni’s great discourse on faith (Ether 12:1–41) is also his farewell address to the Gentiles (Ether 12:38). As Moroni has seen the latter-day Gentiles in vision (Mormon 8:35), he has a perfect understanding of their character traits, foibles, and weaknesses (Mormon 8:17–41).
