SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY Matthew 6:19-21
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. QUOTE OF THE DAY Lorenzo Snow | “All, however, that is necessary for us to do now is to see where our faults and weaknesses lie, if we have any. If we have been unfaithful in the past, let us renew our covenants with God and determine, by fasting and prayer, that we will get forgiveness of our sins, that the Spirit of the Almighty may rest upon us, that peradventure we may escape those powerful temptations that are approaching. The cloud is gathering in blackness. You see what were the results in Kirtland of this spirit of speculation. Therefore, take warning” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Lorezo Snow, p. 249). TODAY IN CHURCH HISTORY April 26
1839 - Just after midnight, several of the Twelve Apostles and other brethren arrived at Far West, Missouri, fulfilling the revelation recorded in Doctrine and Covenants 115 that the Twelve were to leave for their missions to Great Britain from Far West, Missouri. They met in council and excommunicated those who had been unfaithful during the difficult days at Kirtland and the expulsion from Missouri. They ordained Wilford Woodruff and George A. Smith members of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles. They then rolled a large stone to the southeast corner of the temple to lay the cornerstone of the Far West Temple. For More History, Click Here!

Studies in the Book of Mormon: Chapter 47: Remembering Our Lord The Nephite sacrament prayers Moroni records for the benefit of the Lamanites—which are identical to those the Church uses today (D&C 20:77, 79)—express the idea that God’s people who eat the bread and drink the wine do so “in remembrance” of the body and blood of Christ, in order that they may witness to God, the Eternal Father, that they are “willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him, and keep his commandments which he hath given them, that they may always have his Spirit to be with them” (Moroni 4:3; 5:2).
