SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Doctrine and Covenants 38:30
I tell you these things because of your prayers; wherefore, treasure up wisdom in your bosoms, lest the wickedness of men reveal these things unto you by their wickedness, in a manner which shall speak in your ears with a voice louder than that which shall shake the earth; but if ye are prepared ye shall not fear.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Russell M. Nelson
“For decades, the Lord’s prophets have urged us to store food, water, and financial reserves for a time of need. The current pandemic has reinforced the wisdom of that counsel. I urge you to take steps to be temporally prepared. But I am even more concerned about your spiritual and emotional preparation” (“Embrace the Future with Faith,” October 2020 General Conference).

NEW and EXPANDED from the original edition (July 2021) with a new Appendix reviewing Rough Stone Rolling and other new content. The book has over 400 footnotes and careful analysis of the historical evidence.
This is the first book to explain the new "demonstration" narrative, which reconciles the stone-in-the-hat (SITH) testimony with the Urim and Thummim testimony. The evidence shows that while Joseph Smith translated the golden plates with the Urim and Thummim, he also conducted a demonstration for his supporters in the Whitmer home in Fayette.
These separate activities led to the variety of witness statements that have caused so much confusion over the years. The demonstration narrative makes sense of all the available historical evidence in a way that corroborates the long-term teachings of the prophets about the translation.
