Testimony
SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Moroni 10:4-5
And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Thomas S. Monson
Thomas S. Monson
“May I suggest that . . . you set aside time every day to find out for yourself if the Book of Mormon is a true book, for it will change your heart and change your life. If you seek this knowledge ‘with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ,’ I promise that you will receive an answer. And once you know that the Book of Mormon is true, then it will follow that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. You will have that burning testimony and knowledge that this church is true.
Such knowledge, such a personal testimony, is essential if we are to safely navigate the sometimes treacherous paths through life with the adversary attempting to deceive us at every turn. As you keep the flame of testimony burning brightly, you will become a beacon of righteousness—even a light—for all to see” (“Be a Light to the World,” BYU Devotional, November 1, 2011).

TODAY IN CHURCH HISTORY
June 10, 2021
1844 - The Nauvoo City Council meets from “10 a. m., to 1:20 p. m., and from 2:20 p. m. to 6:30 p. m. investigating the merits of the Nauvoo Expositor. An ordinance was passed by the city council against libels, an act was passed calling the Expositor a public nuisance, and the mayor was ordered to immediately have the nuisance removed.  The mayor, Joseph Smith, then orders the marshal to destroy the press.  “About 8 p. m., the Marshal returned and reported that he had removed the press, type, printed paper, and fixtures into the street, and destroyed them” (History of the Church, 6:432).  These actions would lead to the arrest of Joseph and Hyrum Smith and their death in Carthage, Illinois.

Annotated Edition of the Book of Mormon
by David R. Hocking

The Annotated Edition of the Book of Mormon is more like a text book for those that want more in-depth understanding of the people, places and events that shape the narrative. There are annotations, research articles, quotes from early apostles and prophets and the diagrams, charts and maps are very helpful to understanding this sacred scripture.
