SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY Matthew 25:14-17, 21 |
|
"For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he agave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. . . . His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." |

QUOTE OF THE DAY Brigham Young |
"If you give anything for the building up of the Kingdom of God, give the best you have. What is the best thing you have to devote to the Kingdom of God? It is the talents God has given you. How many? Every one of them. What beautiful talents! What a beautiful gift! . . Let us devote every qualification we are in possession of to the building up of God’s Kingdom, and you will accomplish the whole of it” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Brigham Young, p. 327). |

TODAY IN CHURCH HISTORY June 15 |
|
1829 - About this time, Oliver Cowdery, David Whitmer, and Martin Harris, having been moved upon by the Spirit, approached the Prophet Joseph and asked to be the three special witnesses of the Book of Mormon mentioned in Ether 5:2-4 and other places. The Prophet asked the Lord and received the revelation recorded as Doctrine and Covenants 17 where they are told that with full purpose of heart and faith, they shall “view the plates” and other items associated with the Book of Mormon and then they must bear witness to the world.
