We have received many emails from the dedicated readers of Latter-day Light. We will not be able to respond individually to all of them, but please know they are appreciated! They have all been read with much tenderness as we realize the effect this daily email has had on so many people for so many years.

Many of you have asked if this daily email will continue. Right now, we am not sure what will happen. We have updated the website with the Scripture reading schedule and Today in Church History through the month of November. Please go to the website to enjoy those daily for the next few weeks while we make some decisions. Latter Day Light was solely Barton's work and efforts up until the last couple of years that we have assisted him with some of the things he could no longer do on the technical side. He determined the quote and the scripture daily, based on what he felt was needed for that day. There are a lot of extra articles, many written by him, memes and histories that his mom researched and wrote, on the website. We hope you will enjoy them during this time.
Sincerely,
Barton's Family

Thank you to all who have been faithful readers and supporters of Barton and Latter Day Light, through the years!

QUOTE OF THE DAY
George Albert Smith
“We cannot live like the world and expect to obtain our rightful place in the Kingdom. The Lord tells us in the first section of the Doctrine and Covenants, referring to evil: that he cannot look upon sin with the least degree of allowance. This is hard medicine, because some of us in the Church have the idea that we can trifle with the Gospel of our Lord and with fundamentals of Eternal Life, and yet gain the place we want. This is not true. The Lord will be merciful, but he will be just, and if we want any blessing there is only one way we may obtain it, and that is to keep the commandments that will entitle us to the blessing” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: George Albert Smith, p. 7).

TODAY IN CHURCH HISTORY
November 10, 2021
2001 - Children, parents, leaders, and a few friends, gathered at the Arapahoe Colorado Stake Center to put their “Temple Pennies” for the Nauvoo Temple together and donate them to the Church. They gathered 6,000 pounds or 170 gallons of pennies for the $10,401.39 check that was delivered November 27 to Church headquarters.

Who were they in Church History?

John Murdock is mentioned in the Doctrine and Covenants twice: Sections 52 and 99.  Who was John Murdock and what is his connection to Joseph Smith?
