SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. Click Here!

QUOTE OF THE DAY Wilford Woodruff
“We should begin to understand that God’s ways are infinitely superior to our ways, and that His counsels, though they may seem to call for sacrifice, are always the best and the safest for us to adopt and carry out. Thousands among us can testify to the truth of this from individual experience….Nothing but the power of God could have brought forth the fulness of the Gospel, organized the Church, gathered His people to Zion in fulfillment of revelation and performed the work which has been accomplished. We want to bear in mind that our strength, our hope and our power is in the hands of God, and not in men. The Lord Himself has stretched forth His hand to establish this Church, His kingdom, His work. … We have no power in ourselves. We never have had in the guidance and direction of this kingdom, only through the interposition of Almighty God. …and that we know that the heavens are communicating with us, directing the performance of this great latter-day work in which the Latter-day Saints are engaged, this very fact alone should fill our hearts with humility before the Lord our God, and it should continually remind us in our reflections and feelings of the responsibility we are under both to Him and to one another, and also of our dependence upon him for all the blessings we enjoy of a spiritual as well as a temporal nature”(Teachings of the Presidents of the Church: Wilford Woodruff, p. 102). 1838 - A two hundred man mob attacked the small settlement of Hawn’s Mill, Missouri, killing seventeen men and boys and wounding fourteen others. The dead included nine-year-old Sardius Smith, son of Warren Smith, who had the upper part of his head blown off from a gun placed against his head. Charles Merrick, about nine years old, was also among those killed in the massacre. Some of the wounded were also young boys and teens.
Accomplishing the Impossible: What God Does, What We Can Do by Russell M. Nelson In the Lord s plan for His children, this is the final dispensation. Many important things need to be done to prepare the earth for the Savior s Second Coming. From preaching the gospel in every nation, to sealing our families throughout the generations, to becoming ever more like our Savior, Jesus Christ, we as Latterday Saints face many tasks that may seem impossible from a worldly standpoint. But ours is an eternal perspective, and our mandate comes not from the world but from the Lord, who gives no commandment without preparing a way for it to be accomplished (see 1 Nephi 3:7). In fact, as Elder Russell M. Nelson points out, His pattern is one of using the unlikely to accomplish the impossible. From David and Goliath to Moses to Joseph Smith, the history of His people is a story of accomplishing the impossible. We too can become a part of this grand pattern as we strive to learn and do His will. This insightful book explores some of the means God gives us such as angelic help, prayer, and gifts of the Spirit to help us accomplish the impossible. It then shows what we can do to take our place in fulfilling the destiny He has planned for us. As we become partners with the Lord, impossible things really can become a reality! CLICK HERE!
