IRS Issues Guidance On Tax Payment Deferrals, Confirms That Tax Filing Due Dates Have Not Been Extended
(Forbes) - As the numbers of confirmed cases of COVID-19 continue to increase in the United States, the federal government is taking action to reduce the impact on taxpayers. Specifically, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has officially announced that the due date for making tax payments has been pushed to July 15, 2020.
New Email Scam Targets Tax Pros Warning Their EFINs Will Be Suspended
(Accounting Today) - The phishing email claims the tax preparerâs Electronic Filing Identification Number has been placed on temporary hold and warns the EFIN will be suspended unless the recipient opens an embedded document and confirms or denies they submitted the Form 1040. The embedded â1040â document likely contains malware.
