J. Krishnamurti Online

Without knowing yourself, there is no love; there is hate, there is pleasure, there is agony, suspicion, bitterness, jealousy, but that has nothing to do with love. If you are jealous, you do not know what it means to love. And without knowing love, you will never know what death is. You will see a hearse or a body being burnt on the banks of a river, or you will be afraid of it, but you will never know the extraordinary nature of it, the beauty of it. You will not know what creation is without being in that state of love and death. Only when there is this state of mind that has understood, finished with the knowing of itself, is there love. Then there is death, then there is creation, and beyond that, all words, all symbols, all expression, have no meaning at all.
