God had created the world, and was taking rest. A man went up to him and said, ‘Lord, you have created a marvellous world, but there are places left that you haven’t looked upon.’ So God said, ‘What are those?’ The man said, ‘Look there, create marvellous mountains, green pastures, lovely streams and beautiful lakes.’ God says, ‘All right, old boy, I’ll do it.’ And he does it. The man comes back and says, ‘Lord, you have created a marvellous place but please put the best cows on earth there. God says, ‘All right.’ One day, the Lord says, ‘I must go down there and take a look.’ He goes there, wanders around, then says, ‘My goodness, it is really a beautiful place, the most beautiful place I’ve created.’ He goes along and sees a restaurant, goes in, and the restaurateur recognises him and says, ‘Lord, come and sit down,’ puts the napkin on him, and says, ‘A great honour, a great privilege,’ blah, blah, blah. And the Lord says, ‘Can I have some of that marvellous milk which I’ve created?’ He says, ‘Lord, with the greatest pleasure.’ So he goes and brings a beautiful polished glass of milk. The Lord tastes it and says, ‘Marvellous, marvellous!’ Then the man brings along a little plate with a piece of paper on it. The Lord says, ‘What is that?’ He says, ‘The bill, sir.’
