When you are envious or acquisitive – and the whole structure of society is based on envy, and we are educated to be envious – when you consider envy, you justify it, you say, ‘How am I to live in this world without envy?’ So you approach the fact of envy by having an opinion about it already. The word ‘envy’ is already condemnatory, so you approach it with condemnation. So you have to be free of the word.
