Find out for yourself if you can behave because you have affection. You are punctual because you don’t want to keep people waiting. You don’t make noise while eating because there are others around. You don’t shout when with others because there are other people watching you and with you. This behaviour, politeness and consideration may be very superficial. Such superficial consideration and behaviour have no meaning. But if there is affection, kindliness and consideration, out of that comes politeness, good manners and consideration for others, which means really that you are thinking less and less about yourself. That is one of the most difficult things in life, not to be concerned with yourself. You are a free human being when you are not concerned with yourself.
