Skimm'd while feeling like a tax pro…

  QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Tequila anyone?" – Oprah handed out tequila shots on a cruise in her pajamas. If this isn't our 2019 mood, we don't know what is.

SNOOZER BOWL

The Story

Last night, the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl 13-3 against the Los Angeles Rams. Quick, act surprised.

I fell asleep. How'd it happen?

At a glacial pace. By the fourth quarter, the game was tied 3-3 thanks to field goals. Until the Pats finally picked things up with a touchdown. It was the lowest-scoring Super Bowl game in history. Now Pats QB Tom Brady has more Super Bowl wins than any NFL player ever. Pats wide receiver Julian Edelman was the Super Bowl MVP. And head coach Bill Belichick became the oldest coach to get a Super Bowl ring (he's 66).

What else will people at work be talking about?

Gladys Knight, who crushed the national anthem. The male cheerleaders who were there for the first time. Brady's first pass of the game being intercepted. Rams' punter Johnny Hekker kicking the longest punt in Super Bowl history. And the people who didn't tune in: celebs and activists boycotted and tweeted #ImWithKap.

I saw some ads but let's hear a recap.

RoboChild is giving us nightmares. Serena Williams made us feel empowered. Mr. Peanut came to the rescue. There was some serious '90s nostalgia. Carrie Bradshaw and The Dude drank Stella Ar-toes. Bud Light wants everyone to sip its corn syrup-free beer. Colgate made us uncomfortable. So did chunky milk. The Washington Post reminded us that journalism matters. And you have a lot of shows you need to add to your watch list: "The Handmaid's Tale," "Game of Thrones," "The Twilight Zone," "Hanna."

Thoughts on the halftime show?

There was sweet victory. And nipples. Travis Scott didn't propose to Kylie. Big Boi stole the show wearing your grandma's fur coat. Adam Levine doesn't have the moves like Jagger. Plan for next year's game: just have the gospel choir perform.

With Brady and Belichick's six Super Bowl wins together, last night's game solidified what we already knew: they're one of the best QB/coach duos of all time. And could be for a while to come.

REPEAT AFTER ME...

Who people are talking about…

Virginia's Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam. On Friday, a photo from his 1984 med school yearbook surfaced that shows two people: one wearing blackface and another in a Ku Klux Klan outfit. He apologized for appearing in the photo but didn't say which of the two people he was. The next day, he said 'actually, that definitely wasn't me in the photo.' But he admitted to wearing blackface in a dance contest to resemble Michael Jackson in the past. And he seemed ready to prove that he'd mastered Jackson's moonwalk after a reporter asked if he could still do the move – until his wife said "inappropriate circumstances." People in his own party are calling for him to resign. He's refusing.

What to say when you hear El Salvador is getting a new president…

Things are less clear in Venezuela, which still has two people calling themselves "Mr. President." It's been about two weeks since opposition leader Juan Guaidó invoked the constitution to become interim president. President Nicolás Maduro has said he's not going anywhere. But over the weekend, a high-ranking general there decided to break with the rest of the military and support Guaidó. This came the same day that tens of thousands of people protested to push Maduro out of office. Meanwhile, Maduro has called for early parliamentary elections. Which could potentially lead to Guaidó – who's also the head of the country's parliament – being ousted. Other countries are still weighing in on all this. After China threw its weight behind Maduro, it's now saying that it'll continue to work with Venezuela "no matter how the situation evolves." And yesterday, President Trump said that a US military intervention there is "an option." Maduro said 'seriously, don't.'

What to say when your OOO gets approved…

Time to see new places. Yesterday, Pope Francis went to the United Arab Emirates – becoming the first pope to ever visit the Arabian Peninsula. The region is the birthplace of Islam and the UAE is majority Muslim – but home to about 1 million Catholics. This visit is part of the pope's efforts for interfaith talks. Tomorrow, he will celebrate mass at a sports arena, in what's expected to be the largest public Christian celebration in the country.

What to say to your cousin who always one-ups you…

Anything you can do I can do better. Russia's singing the same tune. Let's back up: on Friday, the US officially pulled out of a Cold War-era treaty between the two. The fine print: both countries had to get rid of and stop producing missiles with ranges between about 300 and 3,400 miles. The US has accused Russia of violating the treaty for years, and officially withdrew. So now Russia's saying that it'll stop following the treaty too – and that it plans to start building up the weapons that were previously banned. Great.

What has people shook…

21 Savage. Yesterday, the Grammy-nominated rapper was arrested in the US for overstaying his visa. Even though he's said he's from Atlanta, he's actually a UK citizen.

What to say during your co-worker's going away party…

Vonn voyage.
