Hello, Tuesday is when we round-up all the best of our planning news for you. A popular Indian restaurant is to be replaced with houses and flats. The Little Tiger served its final meal earlier this month and just days later, planning committee members gave the go-ahead for a residential development on the plot. The operator of the venue is planning to relocate the business with some locals believing the new plans are "dangerous". Elsewhere, plans have been launched for a new cocktail bar in Preston city centre. Serena Baxter, who already runs In:Libra in Friargate, Room 32 in Guildhall Street, and Lonely People in Winckley Street, wants permission to change the use of the former Visage salon at 133 Friargate to a “bar with food provision”. Finally, Leyland has been told that it has done enough to secure a £25m boost pledged to the town by the government. The area was one of those provisionally allocated a share from the Towns Fund back in March 2021 after making a pitch for the cash needed to bring to life a trio of ambitious regeneration projects.
