This year's speaker is Omer Bartov, John P. Birkelund Distinguished Professor of European History at Brown University. 

The topic of his talk is "Anatomy of a Genocide: The Life and Death of a Town Called Buczacz".

The Erickson Lecture is hosted by the Princess Dashkova Russian Centre, the University of Edinburgh Europa Institute and University of Edinburgh Politics and International Relations. The annual Lecture was established to mark the seminal contributions to military history and analysis made by John Erickson (1929-2002) while Professor of Defence Studies at the University of Edinburgh. It acts as a platform for prominent analysts and politicians to discuss relations between Russia and the wider world.
