The Fiscal Policy Center continues to monitor developments in the General Assembly concerning the state budget. The Joint Budget Committee (JBC) continues to iron out the different versions of the budget bill passed in the House and Senate. Additionally, the JBC continues to add amendments and orbital bills to achieve its desired budget goals. Once approved, the budget will move to the Governor’s office, where Governor Polis can use line-item veto power before final bill approval by the end of June, and in time for the start of the next fiscal year.
