The 2024 Daylight Talk series continues with Samuli Miettinen, partner of JKMM Architects. The Finnish architect will give a talk titled ”Shadow and Light” in collaboration with Aalto University.
In this lecture, Samuli Miettinen explores how architecture is shaped by the interplay of light and material. It emphasises the architect's role in creating spaces that balance individual and collective needs, as light and shadow define the atmosphere. Nordic light, with its seasonal variations, plays a crucial role in shaping the unique qualities of this architecture.
Jenni Reuter, Associate Professor in Architectural Principles and Theory at Aalto University, will present the talk and moderate the Q&A session.
