Dazzle is seeking a new Operations Manager

Operations Manager

(Don’t worry, Matt isn’t going anywhere. Dazzle needs another Matt and since DNA technology isn’t at that level yet, we need to hire one.)

Seeking a candidate with a strong background in hospitality and previous full-service restaurant experience (3 years of experience preferable.)

This is a full-time position. Five nights per week including Friday and Saturday.

They must be detail-oriented to food beverage service, with high standards of cleanliness.

They should know how to treat people with respect and understanding to build strong customer and employee relations.

They will oversee the training, scheduling and product awareness of food, beverage and music to all staff in order to maintain company standard. Work on cross-training of all employees, and to fill in where needed.

In addition, they should be successful at planning, have a sense of effective marketing and sales strategies, and an understand jazz and related music.

Pay starts at $25 / hour with more upon verifiable experience and references.

ReSound Quintet: String Quartet + Voice

Bridging jazz, rock, klezmer, and groove, Big Brooklyn carries a progressive yet inviting presence, exploring beautiful melodies while defining new boundaries. Awarded Semi-Finalist positions in the 2022 UK Songwriting Contest for multiple compositions on their new album, Everyone Everywhere, as well as being a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for their song “One Provision,” this five-piece group captivates audiences with a unique depth of passion in expressive melodies and harmonies, touching on the inseparable exultation and pathos of the klezmer sound, all interwoven over a fabric of jazz and groove that pulls all stops. Linda Maich Quartet

Vocalist and songwriter, Linda Maich is thrilled to be performing again at Dazzle. She will be joined by a first-class trio featuring French pianist, Frédéric Desmoulins, acoustic bassist, Michael Fitzmaurice, and drummer, Bill Larson.
This concert will include Linda’s original compositions as well as songs by such artists as Michael Franks, Hoagy Carmichael, and French singer-songwriter, Julien Clerc.
In 2019, Linda presented a tribute to Abbey Lincoln at Dazzle, and she performed three virtual concerts in 2021 through the concert series 100 Nights of Jazz which kept her on her toes during the height of the pandemic.
A Denver native, Linda has also lived in Paris, London and Morocco, and in November of 2023, she is making her first trip to Japan where she hopes to sit in at some storied jazz club in Kyoto and sing A Foggy Day in London Town.

Kids' Matinee: Nic Clark's Harmonica Workshop

Same Cloth is a charismatic, Denver-based band that uses their individual peculiarities to share meaningful art. Started in 2019 by multi-genre vocal-piano duo, JoFoKe and Solomon Chapman, Same Cloth performs original music and creative cover arrangements. Along with JoFoKe's vocal stylings and Solomon Chapman's keyboards Same Cloth’s musical vision is brought to life by Will Gaines on bass, Callum Bair & James Tré on guitar and Matt Campbell on drums. As a unit, Same Cloth combines the diverse traditions of Black American Music to create an energetically eclectic and emotionally elevating live music experience.

Remy Le Boeuf's Assembly of Shadows Jazz Orchestra

Remy Le Boeuf’s Assembly of Shadows is a Grammy-nominated jazz orchestra led by composer and saxophonist, Remy Le Boeuf. Since its inception in 2018, the ensemble has premiered several commissioned works by Le Boeuf, including the work the ensemble is named after, The Assembly of Shadows Suite. The ensemble released its debut self-titled album on November 1, 2019 on SporeSpore Records. Not only did the album garner Le Boeuf two Grammy nominations in 2021 for composing and arranging, but the album was praised by The New York Times for its “overwhelming beauty” and its “ace ensemble.” The orchestra celebrated its sophomore release, Architecture of Storms, on November 5, 2021 and soon after received a Grammy nomination for “Best Large Jazz Album” the following year, as well as a second nomination for arranging. With its stellar performers, ground-breaking recording projects, and innovative premieres, Remy Le Boeuf’s Assembly of Shadows is on the forefront of jazz orchestra music today.

This performance is part of the ‘Move To the Music’ large ensemble series, which is supported by Denver Arts & Venues through a Five Points Jazz Activation grant.

Pat Bianchi:

A modern ambassador of the mighty Hammond B3, Grammy nominated organist Pat Bianchi demonstrates a deep knowledge of jazz-organ history yet draws from a wide range of other musical influences. The result is a unique and creative voice that acknowledges the tradition while looking beyond at the same moment. 

Art Lande:

Grammy-nominated Art Lande is considered one of the premiere improvisational jazz pianists today. He has mostly carved out his own singular path throughout his career, taking the innovations of Bill Evans several steps further. In 1973 he recorded with Jan Garbarek and Ted Curson and in the mid-1970's had started his own jazz school. In 1976 he formed the quartet Rubisa Patrol which recorded for ECM. After teaching for three years in Switzerland, Lande in 1987 moved to Boulder, Colorado, and continues to teach, compose and perform.

Annie Booth:

Annie Booth is a versatile and award-winning composer, arranger, and jazz pianist.

She has received national recognition for her work as a composer with awards and grants from the likes of ASCAP, Downbeat Magazine, the Jazz Education Network, the International Society for Jazz Arrangers and Composers (ISJAC), and Chamber Music America. Booth has released five albums as a bandleader and has appeared on more than a dozen as a side-musician.

Joe & Theresa Mazza

Denver-based couple Joe and Theresa Mazza have been writing music and performing together for over 20 years. Since their days in Nashville, the guitarist and vocalist have toured with Latin, Country and Gospel artists like Chayanne, Little Big Town and Nicole C Mullen. Since moving to Denver over ten years ago, Joe and Theresa have made music with local artists John Common, Eben Grace and The 89’s, and Amberly Chalberg, and been part of theater performances with Local Theater Company and Curious Theater Company. They will share the stage with their son, drummer JJ Mazza (currently studying at Manhattan School of Music), as well as some of their incredible friends for an evening of music you won’t forget.

The Brandee Younger Trio

A leading voice of the harp, Brandee Younger recently made history at the 2022 Grammy Awards as the first Black female solo artist nominated in the Best Instrumental Composition category for her song “Beautiful Is Black." The mesmerizing track is from her 2021 critically well-received major label debut album, Somewhere Different, that also received a 2022 NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Jazz Album – Instrumental. Over her career Ms. Younger has performed and recorded across countless genres with artists including John Legend, The Roots, Lauryn Hill, Common, Pharoah Sanders, Ravi Coltrane, Ron Carter, and Charlie Haden. Additionally her original composition “Hortense” was featured in the Netflix Concert-Documentary, Beyoncé: Homecoming and in 2019 the tireless musician was selected to perform her original music as a featured performer for Quincy Jones and Steve McQueens’ “Soundtrack of America.”
