Adam’s repertoire is constantly shapeshifting and his compositions creatively intermingle a dynamic synergy of styles, sounds, feels, and moods. Undeniable is Bodine’s joy of making music, which paired with his playful sense of humor, always shines on stage and treats audiences to unique and memorable experiences.

Gift of Jazz’s Women In Jazz Series feat. Carmen Sandim

Over her 30+ year relationship with music, award-winning composer and pianist Carmen Sandim has explored a variety of music styles – from performing with a Symphony orchestra, to composing TV jingles, to scoring for independent movies and Big Band, to leading her own Jazz groups. On September 11th, her band will perform her latest collection of original compositions which are jazz rooted, intricately arranged, and strongly infused with the rhythms of her home country, Brazil as part of The Gift of Jazz’s Women in Jazz series.

Emmet Cohen Trio

Multifaceted American jazz pianist and composer Emmet Cohen is one of his generation’s pivotal figures in music and the related arts. Downbeat praised the “nimble touch, measured stride and warm harmonic vocabulary” he employs to communicate with other musicians and audiences at what he terms “the deepest level of humanity and individuality.” Leader of the “Emmet Cohen Trio” and creator of the “Masters Legacy Series,” Cohen is an internationally acclaimed jazz artist and dedicated music educator.

Emmet Cohen is the winner of the 2019 American Pianists Awards and the Cole Porter Fellow of the American Pianists Association, and Artist-in-Residence at the University of Indianapolis. He was a finalist in the 2011 Thelonious Monk International Piano Competition.

John Daversa and Tal Cohen, The Art of Duo

Multi-Grammy award winning trumpeter John Daversa, has teamed up with acclaimed jazz pianist Tal Cohen, creating an open vessel of musical imagination and creativity within a modern duo setting.

These two masters of their instruments share a special chemistry of spontaneity and improvisation, diving deep into the realms of possibilities and enchantment within each performance. Recorded in Spring 2022, “The Art of Duo” showcases the unique relationship and musical dynamic John Daversa and Tal Cohen embody when playing together as a duo. Their keen sense for knowing when to push, lift, and/or embellish and harmonize together, seems to be an instinctual response, very much exclusive to this duo’s aura and energy.

Monty Alexander with Luke Sellick & Jason Brown

Nearly sixty years after he moved to the United States from Kingston, Jamaica, his hometown, Grammy nominated pianist Monty Alexander is an American classic, touring the world relentlessly with various projects, delighting a global audience drawn to his vibrant personality and soulful message. A perennial favorite at Jazz festivals and venues worldwide and at the Montreux Jazz Festival where he has appeared 23 times since 1976, his spirited conception is one informed by the timeless verities: endless melody-making, effervescent grooves, sophisticated voicings, a romantic spirit, and a consistent predisposition, as Alexander accurately states, “to build up the heat and kick up a storm.” In the course of any given performance, Alexander applies those aesthetics to a repertoire spanning a broad range of jazz and Jamaican musical expressions—the American songbook and the blues, gospel and bebop, calypso and reggae.

Four jazz luminaries join to lovingly pay tribute to the idiom known as Jazz and its storied history and tradition. WE FOUR will perform the music of some of the most innovative jazz artists of the 20th century. These artists will include Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, Miles Davis, and John Coltrane. In addition, WE FOUR will also present original material from members of this ensemble.
