It’s hard to say exactly but “View From Here” represents Andy Wheelock’s unique musical perspective of those genres, and many others, combined into heavy grooves, infectious melodies, and sonic vistas that allow the band to paint elaborate improvised landscapes.

Dave Devine Album Release ft. Matt Mayhall

A new recording of all original music composed by Dave Devine featuring Paul McDaniel on bass & synth, Matt Mayhall on drums, percussion & piano. Devine blends rock, ambient noise, experimental and Psychedelic textures into complex yet approachable instrumental songs. You can expect effect-heavy guitars, layered synths, and driving bass and drums that create a melodic landscape over unexpected harmonies and shifting meters.

Sarah Mount and the Rushmores

The Sarah Mount origin story could be ripped straight from the pages of a silver-age DC comic book. It all starts with her being in a horrific accident where, as a pedestrian, she was struck and nearly killed by a truck in Aspen. Like so many heroes, Sarah turned that tragedy into triumph by rediscovering her passion for art and music, strapping on her saxophone, and becoming one of the busiest horn players in Colorado — while also building a career as an artist and moonlighting as a defender of women who have been victimized.

Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra

The Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra (MJO) is one of Denver’s longest standing big bands that play all styles of big band jazz including classic swing (Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman), modern swing (Basie, Kenton), Latin, rock, and pop. You will no doubt want to sing along, and maybe even dance along to their engaging music, which features many of Denver’s finest musicians and soloists.

Miguel Espinoza Flamenco Fusion

Miguel Espinoza Flamenco Fusion regularly plays to sold out audiences in the Denver area, and were the winners of Denver’s Westword Magazine 2019 Music Award for Best of World Music. Miguel Espinoza Flamenco Fusion’s first CD, “Turtle Dreams”, is full of original music that has been described as “colorful and vibrant”, “emotional”, a “stunning combination of jazz, flamenco, and subtle world music”, and ”sophisticated rhythmic elements…emotional, natural and organic”. A second CD, Veneta, was released in August 2020!

The Delta Sonics

The Delta Sonics’ music takes a Chicago Blues base and seasons it with Swing, Delta, N’awlins R&B, and some early Rock n’ Roll. They were Westword’s best blues band in Denver six out of the last eight years. The band made the semi-finals in the Memphis International Blues Challenge in 2012 and have been featured at many of the major festivals in Colorado and Wyoming.

The Gift of Jazz Presents: The Music of Curtis Fuller

The influence of Cutis Fuller on the jazz trombone world cannot be overstated. From his membership in the Jazztet and Jazz Messengers to the seminal Blue Trane and Dizzy bands, he was, until his passing earlier this year, always in the forefront of the hard bop era. Join us as we pay tribute to his life and music with a band that features trombonist Paul McKee plus tenor saxophonist Keith Oxman with whom Curtis collaborated on his last two albums.
