The Tom Amend Octet is a group based out of Denver that focuses on playing original jazz music written for this unique instrumentation of five horns backed by an organ trio.

Thursday Oct. 14 - 9:30pm

FreeBear combines their love for Funk, Reggae, Salsa, and a good old fashioned dance party into a unique sound. They will be joined for this special concert by Benny Bloom and Steve Kovalcheck.

Fortunato Plays Chick ft. Victor Mestas

Join us for a special evening with amazing pianist Victor Mestas! Fortunado’s guitarist Alexios is away on a world tour with Hans Zimmer, so we are taking the opportunity to join forces with Victor to dedicate this show to one of our favorite jazz composers/performers, Chick Corea.

Gift of Jazz Presents a Centennial Tribute to Jon Hendricks

Saturday Oct. 16 - 7pm

Vocalist Leonard E. Barrett Jr. celebrates the life and music of jazz icon Jon Hendricks at this Gift of Jazz Centennial concert.

Backed by a spirited trio, Leonard Barrett Jr. will explore the many sides of one of jazz’s most beloved vocalists on the occasion of his centenary.

Coming off a successful Nat King Cole portrayal performance, the talented Leonard Barrett Jr. will tackle the spirited and energetic music of this vocal icon while telling the story of his musical life in this one-night only event presented by The Gift of Jazz.

Echoes

Saturday Oct. 16 - 10pm

Echoes is “the sound of jazz in the ‘right now’” (Jazziz Magazine). They are coming to Dazzle to celebrate the release of their November 15 release, Lasting, out on Unit Records.

Their music pairs futuristic electronica with focused improvisations to create a sound that is uniquely their own.

In August 2018, the band released its first EP, “Square Two”, and toured across the West Coast of the United States in support of it. On August 2, 2019, their debut LP, “Loading Scree” was released to critical acclaim and praised as “ferociously energetic, slyly humorour, acoustically engaging and digitally savvy” by Jazziz Magazine.

The group is set to release their latest album, “Lasting”, on Unit Records on October 15, 2021, and will be performing at Dazzle as part of their CD release tour.

Five-time Juno Award winner Jane Bunnett has turned her bands and recordings into showcases for the finest musical talent from Canada, the US, and Cuba. With Maqueque, Bunnett has created something new and phenomenal in the world of jazz and has become one of the top groups on the North American jazz scene.
