Mexico is blocking pork shipments from a Smithfield Foods plant in Tar Heel, N.C., the largest in the world, due to concerns about the quality of hog skins. The country has been a strong buyer of U.S. pork in recent months. In April, for example, pork exports to Mexico were up 58% from a year ago.
