The year is slowly coming to a close, but that's surely no reason for us to sit back contentedly. We have more exciting news to fill the rest of the year!
On November 9th, with the 29th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, a new cabinet exhibit will open with biographies and stories from 16 young adults born in the last full year of the DDR.
We're celebrating another anniversary with the newest edition of the popular 0-Euro souvenir note. This fourth edition note commemorates the 200th birthday of the philosopher and social critic Karl Marx.

| | | | | | | New Cabinet Exhibit in the DDR Museum Foyer opens November 10th | |
| | | | | | | | | We often talk about the generation which was marked by the fall of the Wall and the reunification of Germany. But what has become of the children of the German unification, called "Wendekinder" in German, who were born in the DDR? This exhibit portrays how the lives of 16 young adults born in the months just before the Wall fell in November 1989 were influenced by the country and government they never truly lived under. How did Germany's reunification shape their lives? What do they expect from their lives in today's East Germany? More information will soon be published on our blog.
Entry to the cabinet exhibit in the foyer of the DDR Museum is free. The exhibit opens on November 10th. | |
| | | | | | | Normal Business Hours for Upcoming International Holidays | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The DDR Museum is open for international holidays including the American holidays Halloween (Oct 31st) and Thanksgiving (Nov 22nd) with our normal hours. We're open 10am to 8pm daily, and until 10pm on Saturdays so you can have an "hands on experience of history" daily!
If you want to avoid queues, we suggest our online tickets. With this ticket you can visit the DDR Museum without any wait! |

| | | | | | | Collaboration: Overkill x Reebok Club C85 Bückware "Berlin 1985" | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In mid-September the Berlin label and shop Overkill, in collaboration with Reebok, launched 500 limited edition Club C "Berlin 1985" trainers inspired by typical DDR patterns and fabrics. The DDR Museum was also a part of the project, giving the first 300 costumers a ticket to visit the permanent exhibit at the DDR Museum. While the trainers sold out within a few hours, the matching clothing and accessories are still for sale online. |
