NOMINATION DEADLINE EXTENDED:
March 17, 2020

All libraries are good, some are great. LJ is looking for role-model libraries to vie for the honor of being the 2020 Library Journal/Gale Cengage Learning Library of the Year.

Established in 1992, each year the Library of the Year Award celebrates the library that most profoundly demonstrates service to the community, creativity and innovating in developing specific community programs or has seen dramatic increase in library use and leadership in creating programs emulated by other libraries. The 2020 Library of the Year will have the following qualities:

  • Be of service to the community.
  • Exhibit creativity and innovation in developing specific community programs or a dramatic increase in library usage.
  • Show leadership in creating programs that can be emulated by other libraries.

The winning library will receive a cash prize of $10,000, be featured on the cover of Library Journal’s (LJ’s) June 2020 issue, available in print and online, and will be honored at a reception at the American Library Association (ALA) annual conference 2020 in Chicago.

A library may be nominated by itself or by a community member.
