Ralph Waldo Emerson In a world where formal education can often dictate the path of an artist, Debbie believes that true creativity knows no boundaries. As Debbie continues to evolve as an artist, her work serves as an inspiration to those who believe in the transformative power of art, born from the heart and nurtured by an unyielding love for self-expression. "I always strive to create art which will evoke a sense of emotion, wonder or calm in the viewer. Each piece is an expression of my artistic vision, influenced by my surroundings or memories. I am always experimenting as an artist, pushing the boundaries of what is possible and challenging myself to grow in new and unexpected ways. I aspire to create work that is both meaningful and accessible for everyone to enjoy." Debbie has been drawing, painting, and creating art for many years but took the leap of faith to make it a post-retirement career path in 2019. Starting out primarily as a landscape painter, Debbie's work has evolved to include painting wildlife and flowers native to the Washington State area. She finds inspiration in the natural landscape that surround her - from the vibrant colors of a PNW sunset to the subtle moodiness of gray and rainy days. These elements are integral to her artistic style, with each brush stroke being a connection between emotion and technique to create a visual narrative that invites viewers to contemplate the nuances of our world. Debbie's portfolio spans a wide range of subjects, but all are united by the common thread of her self-taught authenticity. Creating Art is about Creating Magic.
