In December 2019, FinTech startups across the globe raised $4.50 billion worth of VC/PE investments across 171 deals. In terms of MoM trends, there was an increase of 8.6% from the $4.14 billion raised by FinTechs in terms of VC funding in November 2019. In terms of the number of deals, there was a decrease of 12.7% MoM compared to 196 deals in November.

In region-specific terms, the Americas dominated global FinTech VC funding in December with 58.6% in contributions in terms of funding value ($2.64 billion) and 42.1% in terms of the number of deals (72). Asia placed second with 27.1% in contributions to global FinTech VC funding in December by value ($1.22 billion) and 21.6% in terms of the number of deals (37).
