MINNIE EVANS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION WITH KIDS@CAM

December 14, 10 AM - 2 PM

Celebrate Minnie Evans’s life and legacy at this special edition of Kids@CAM! Kids can enjoy craft-making and a collaborative performance that emphasizes nature and the symmetry of Minnie Evan’s

folk art through dance, music, and art.


From 10 AM – 12 noon, kids will be making cards and birthday gifts for Minnie. These cards will be displayed on a clothesline from the museum to Minnie’s Gatehouse!

Members: $5 per adult/child

Not-Yet Members: $10 per adult/child


From 1 – 2 PM, participants can enjoy a dance performance, Visions & Revelations, presented by the Dance Theatre of DREAMS and choreographed by Lesa Broadhead. The performance features original music by Roger Davis and showcases the art of Cameron Batanides’ students from the MLK Community Center.

Children Ages 2 & Under: Free


Mary's Art Explorers is geared towards infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, but big brothers and sisters are welcome to join and create art with us. Your registration includes admission to the museum for the whole day.

Space is limited, so preregister to guarantee your spot!

CHRISTMAS TREE

Join us in the Reception Hall as we celebrate the holiday season with A Wish to Be a Christmas Tree by Colleen Monroe, illustrated by Michael Glenn Monroe.


After, participants will create a Christmas tree-inspired craft. This is a great opportunity to get in the holiday spirit this Christmas season!

STOLE CHRISTMAS

Join us at Pancoe for a special holiday edition of Mary’s Art Explorers as we celebrate the Christmas season by reading the classic story, How the Grinch Stole Christmas,by Dr. Seuss.


After, participants will create a Christmas-inspired craft. This is a great opportunity to inspire a heart-filled holiday this Christmas!

MERRY MAKERS HOLIDAY CAMP

Need a few hours for last-minute shopping or gift wrapping?

For Ages 5-12, join us for this merry-making morning. A variety of crafts for all ages and abilities will take place to kick-start the holiday season. Bring your imagination ready to go home with a bag filled with crafts. Campers explore simple techniques and crafts to celebrate the season.

MEET MISS ASHLEY!

Miss Ashley comes to CAM from Cleveland, Ohio. Ashley has been a classroom teacher and an educator at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Cleveland. Ashley is a proud aunt to three nephews and one niece. Her favorite activities are building sandcastles and taking walks at

Long Leaf Park.
