Big bill: A major legislative development out of the nation's capital: House Democrats made a major concession about vaccinations for military personnel, clearing the way for the passage of a defense spending bill that has ramifications for communities throughout the state and even key flood protection projects.
Bullet fly at the Dollar Tree: Police say a suspect who pulled up to a Gentilly Dollar Tree store with a rifle on Thursday afternoon was gunning for the two men he shot as they sat out front. But two more shoppers were hit in the hail of bullets, sending a total of four people to the hospital after the gunman sped away. Missy Wilkinson has the story.
Making their case: LCMC's $150 million bid to buy three HCA-owned Tulane hospitals got a public hearing Thursday.
