I didn't intend to adopt a cat. I'm not even a cat person. But for some reason, I kept driving by the Humane Society. It sparked my curiosity, and soon I was looking at adoptable animals on their website. Then I told myself, You might as well stop in one of these days because you have the time, and it could be fun, right? One visit turned into several, and then suddenly I'd fallen in love.

I was sitting on the floor of an open cat room. I'm not the type to go up to cats and pet them. I wanted to give them the chance to feel comfortable and come to me. Suddenly, a dark gray cat with brilliant green eyes walked over, rubbed her cheek on my knee, and plopped herself in my lap. (Keep reading)
