Dogs in lifejackets at the river.

Hi Friends!

We had record-breaking hot weather here in the Pacific Northwest this past week, but we stayed cool by camping at the river. We tested a bunch of awesome camping tables and had a blast watching our dogs splash around in their spiffy new Ruffwear lifejackets.

We've been working on new content for you and made some big updates to our Best Hammocks and Best Coolers lists. Be sure to check them out!

We wish you all a safe and happy Independence Day!

As always, thanks for following, and make sure to hit us up on social media.

Most plants and bugs in the outdoors are completely harmless, but it’s important to be able to identify the ones that could cause you a painful and itchy reaction. With insects and poisonous plants, a little knowledge and preparation will go a long way. Check out our video to learn more.

Are Hiking Sandals Really a Thing?
There’s a new trend gaining traction on the trail that might surprise you - hiking in sandals. No, we are not talking flip flops or crocs. There are a wide variety of technical sandals with lugged soles, arch support, and all the things that make a trail-worthy piece of footwear. We even have a list of the Best Hiking Sandals.
Best Water Bottles
Best Water Bottles
Water bottles. We all use them, but many of us don’t really put much thought into it. If you’re still sipping from that banged up old bottle you've had for a decade, it’s probably time for an upgrade. We spent countless hours getting our hydration on to bring you this list of our favorite water bottles.
Kafkas Kool Tie
GEAR PICK OF THE WEEK
Kafka's Kool Tie

When temperatures rise, it can be more challenging to stay comfortable outdoors. We love Kafka's Kool Ties because they help us thermoregulate when we're hiking and out doing what we love. A Kool Tie is a simple strip of fabric filled with polymer crystals that absorb water. Just soak it in water, tie it around your neck, and the evaporation will make you feel cooler for hours. We're big fans of Kool Ties because they're affordable, simple yet effective, and lightweight/compact enough to take anywhere.
