dear designboom reader,
sculptural works by national pavilions and artists participating at the 59th international art exhibition of la biennale di venezia translate intriguing concepts and forms in three dimensions. in the brazilian pavilion, jonathas de andrade installs larger-than-life parts of the human body that correspond to popular expressions. meanwhile, yunchul kim transforms the korean pavilion with large-scale kinetic sculptures.
also in venice, italian artist and sculptor edoardo tresoldi installed ‘monumento', an ethereal wire mesh column sculpture, inside the procuratie vecchie, an iconic building that was recently renovated by david chipperfield architects.
thanks for reading!
