dear designboom reader,
built among branches and leaves, treehouses recall timeless memories of carefree youth while turning nature into one's most precious companion. such is the case in madeiguincho's treehouse in portugal, which was constructed for a grandfather who wanted to give his grandchildren some quality time away from screens.
in northern sweden, BIG's treehotel was designed to serve both humans and birds alike, featuring an elevated guest room wrapped in a flock of birdhouses. finally, resting on two parallel rows of trees that act as pillars, this elevated path is being developed to allow users to cycle and walk among the treetops.
thanks for reading!
