dear designboom reader, futurism leads the conceptual designs at consumer electronics show (CES) 2023. the crabwalk system in cars looks into making future vehicles twist and turn sideways for easy driving and parallel parking. u-turns can also be a breeze since the tires can rotate at up to 90 degrees. a two-seater and wheel-free car cabin also shows up, taking the form of part jetski and part surfboard to complement its all-digital dashboard powered by artificial intelligence. for a spotlight-stealing cruise on the road, a fully electric sedan, whose exterior is covered with zoomed-in QR codes, glows in varying shades of neon. the sedan being a party-ready car might come to mind since when the driver plays music, the neon lights flicker to follow the beat. from land to air, a street-legal flying car might take off in the near future, bringing over its helicopter design and rotors that fold when the driver commutes by land. which futuristic feature are you excited to try? matthew burgos | editor |
